I plan to spend about $500 on gifts total, plus about $800 on a surprise holiday getaway for my husband and I. We are not doing a big “gift thing” this year; only with a few close friends/family members. For good girlfriends I try to find some special, a small luxury I know they’d love, but would never buy for themselves- for some it’s a “foodie” gourmet gift (igourmet, Williams Sonoma, or http://store.elkhorninnwv.com ), for my mom a fine restaurant dinner with a friend; for others a blingy accessory they can use at work (like a crystal-studded thumb drive!) or a lovely home decor item like a chenille throw… (And I will be eBaying a few things for me!, too)
