Cannes Film Festival opened yesterday with a premiere of Robin Hood. Perhaps the medieval setting of the film inspired the ladies to go with the big gowns, but there was a handful of grandiose creations seen on the red carpet.
The leading lady Cate Blanchett dazzled in an elaborate Alexander MqQueen gown, supposedly picked out for her by the late Alexander MqQueen.
Kate Beckinale looked dreamy in over-the-top Marchessa gown.
Eva Longoria graced the event in a corseted big skirt and long tail gown
Salma Hayek looked slick in Gucci and was one of the few ladies who did not go with a big dress and chose dark rich burgundy color.
