Much anticipated Jason Wu for Target collection is live today, February 5th. The collection consists of 60 pieces and includes color-blocked frocks, delicate bow blouses, and satchel-shaped purses in spring-appropriate baby blue and pale pink hues, in addition to classic black.
Target designer collaborations have been popular with 20+ women who crave designer fashion, but struggle to afford the real thing. These collections also stroke a note with fashionistas who masterfully match high and low.
The majority of pieces retail from 19.99 to 54.99. It looks like most of the pieces can be browsed online, but only available for purchase at the actual store. While Target offers you the feature to check the item’s availability in the store near you, by punching in your zip code, it doesn’t actually give you the chance to shop most of the collection online. Which is a bummer given this digital age. We predict many customers will be disappointed, but guessing that this move will prevent Target’s site from crashing (remember the Missoni’s debacle?), and bring crowds into the physical store to shop the collection.
There is a work around for those who still want to shop the collection online. Proceed to scout Ebay. We got a word that Jason Wu for Target pieces are actually for sale on Ebay
before the launch. They started popping up on Friday, Feb. 3rd and rapidly multiplying in numbers. They are marked up in price, some a little, other a lot. But who knows, perhaps the assurance of getting the piece you want is worth the extra price.
Here are a few reports from Twitter about what’s going on at Target stores and online:
