Although we could have been more impressed with the recent H&M colab, Versace for H&M that is, we can’t wait for the next H&M collaboration. Marni for H&M will launch in stores on March 8, 2012. The line will hit H&M stores worldwide and consists of women-wear, menswear, and accessories.
Created by Marni’s founder and head designer Consuelo Castiglioni, the collection is expected to carry many elements of Marni’s designs, including graphical and tribal patterns, fun textures and flattering cuts. Unlike a louder Versace collection, Marni pieces are expected to have a more tasteful look and feel.
H&M just released a video with a short interview from Consuelo Castiglioni about the collection and what it represents to her. ”It is great to speak to a wider audience and in particular to the younger generations”, Consuelo Castiglioni says.
The video also features a short interview from style.com Tim Blanks. Tim adds: ”I’m a huge Marni fan! She is one of those thinking designers/…/ she aims for a sort of sensuality of the mind.” We couldn’t agree more. Marni’s designs no doubt have a thinking touch combined with superb craftsmanship.
We got a glimpse of pieces from the upcoming collection and happy to report that it consists of Marni’s signature floral and tribal necklaces, smartly patterned suits that are elegant, fun, and look easy to wear, bohemian strappy sandals, and flattering Ikat patterned skirts, dresses and tops.
But see for yourself, below pieces are from the upcoming H&M collection. What do you think of this union? Are you bubbling with excitement or not holding your breath?
Also, for those who just can’t wait for the H&M launch, we found a few original Marni pieces for you to scoop up in the meantime. Surprisingly, they are priced at a fraction of retail.
