Multitasking Never Looked So Pretty With These Shadow/Liner Duo Palettes!

by Editor on July 30, 2010 · 0 comments

While I’m not always a fan of eyeshadow quad palettes beyond the fact that they just look pretty (so many shades when I know I’ll realistically only use half of them), I can appreciate their more compact relative, the duo palette. Especially when the shades are coordinating eyeshadow/liner shades! After all, if there’s one thing I love more than a new favorite flattering eyeshadow shade, it’s two coordinating shades that are made to go together no matter what the desired look — subtle, smokey, sparkly, etc. Plus, while I normally tend to stick to the typical boring black liner just by default, it’s way easier to branch out when the palette does the experimental shadow/liner matching for me!

I love the sparkly contrast between Laura Geller’s Baked Eyeliner Duo — while you could realistically use either as a shadow, I love the juxtaposition of shimmery champagne lids with glittery charcoal liner, and I definitely appreciate powder shadows that are pigment-rich enough to serve as liners, both wet and dry! For something less glitzy and more day-appropriate, this Guerlain palette is pricey, but it’s got you covered with two matching plum shades and a coordinating deeper liner, which is a great alternative to basic black or brown!

Clockwise, from top-left: Guerlain Ombre Eclat Duo & Liner, Clinique Eye-Defining Duo Shadow Liner, Laura Geller Baked Eyeliner Duo, Tarte Eyeshadow Duo, and Smashbox Shadow Liner Duo.
