The Row, a luxurious line tailored to a sophisticated woman, is quickly becoming a favorite among the trendiest celebrities including Gwynneth Paltrow, Thelma Blair, and Sarah Jessica Parker. The line is created by fashion icons Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson who got involved in fashion years ago, first with a mainstream junior line sold at Walmart, and moving up to trendsetting Elizabeth and James collection. The Row is Olsen’s third and most impressive line that builds on design experience with their previous lines.
The fall collection is filled with luxurious basics in muted color palettes and skin-nourishing fabrics such as cashmere, silk blends and jersey. The Row offers everything from over-sized T’s to pencil skirts, to maxi-dresses reminiscent of Mary-Kate’s bohemian style.
As Mary-Kate states in this month’s Marie Claire, The Row has become a passion for both her and her sister, as acting is put on the back burner compared to their now widely successful design ventures. And while some stars limit their fashion involvement to simply plastering their name to a line and nothing more, Mary-Kate has made it clear that she is passionately involved with many aspects of the line, stating in the Marie Claire interview that, “It took us a year and a half to make the first T-shirt.”
