You adore TOMS brand for it’s relaxed, unique, and comfortable shoes, but most improtantly for its touching endeavor to cover bare feet… of kids less forturnate.
You love The Raw, the grown up project of Mary Kate and Ashlee Olsen, for its avant garde style and clean lines.
Not to mention, out of pure human curiousity of what the Olsen sisters are cooking up next and whether they will flop or succeed.
Now, in an unlikely collaboration, Toms Shoes and The Raw joined forces to create a slightly more upscale Toms shoe.
While the shoe styles haven’t changed from the originally designed slip-ons and espadrilles, the material and quality got a luxurious upgrade to soft cashmere blend, Italian-sourced wool, silk embroidery, and leather trim. The line ranges from $98 to $150 and is available at TOMS and Neiman Marcus site.
The capsule collection debuted on the Row’s Fall 2011 runway and the Olsen sisters joined the TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie to for a shoe drop in Honduras, delivering the shoes to communities in need.
Although this designer collaboration is new, the mission is the same. TOMS will donate a shoe for every shoe sold to children in poor communities.
